[Premium DIY] Magazine Holder

Are you tired of all the magazines laying around all over the place in your house? Or are you a student with all the loose assignment papers taking over your desk? Well then this might be exactly the craft you need right now. Whether you’ve never even given magazine holders a second thought or just never had the time to get one, it is exactly what you need.

Here is what you will need:

  • Empty cereal box
  • Patterned paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Cardboard paper (optional)

Step 1:

Take the empty cereal box and draw a straight diagonal line across the whole width of it, using the ruler and the pencil.

Make sure the bottom of the line is atleast 2 inches above the bottom of the box. The top of the line should be near the top edge of the box.

Step 2:

Repeat step 1 on the opposite side of the box as well. Try to make the bottom and top edges of both sides at the same level.

Also draw to straight lines on the edges of the box, one connecting the bottom edges of the diagonal lines and another connecting the top edges.

Step 3:

Cut the box along the lines drawn. For a cleaner cut, try using a precision knife.

Step 4:

Once you are happy with the shape of the box, trace the shape of all four sides onto the patterned paper and cut it out.

Step 5:

Glue the cut-outs onto each of the sides of the box.

Step 6: (optional)

Trace the shape of the bottom of the box onto a hard-cardboard paper. Cut out the cardboard making sure you are cutting it a bit smaller than the traced shape. Then insert this cut-out inside the box for a firmer shape.

And you are done! Customize it however you want to fit in with your other décor elements.
